- In lieu of an abstract, this is an excerpt from the first page: "'If there is one thing that matters in this world', the husband would say emphatically, 'it is a trustworthy housekeeper'. His wife agreed. ln fact they had no reason for complaints on that point: their housekeeper, chosen from dozens of candidates, was the essence of trustworthiness. She took charge of the house, did the shopping, even got money from the bank for her employers. All within the strictest standards of honesty. They trusted her so much that they had no qualms about leaving the apartment with her when they were out of town."
